University First-time Undergraduate Applicant and Acceptance

Methodology:

This report shows number of university first-time undergraduate applicants by institution by admission action and residence type by gender and ethnicity. Data for each selected report year appear on separate pages with individual pages accessible via a pulldown menu.

Data Elements:

Higher Education Admissions. All undergraduate, graduate, and professional studen applications for summer and fall terms at each Texas public university. This report is collected each fall and includes only the applications that are complete. (Source: THECB CBM00B Admission Report).

Admission Action.

• Top 10% - Applicant accepted and ranked in top 10% of high school graduating class (undergraduates only)
• Top 25% - Applicant accepted and ranked in top 25% of high school graduating class if not included in top 10% (undergraduates only)
• Other Criteria - Applicant accepted based on other criteria, including provisional basis
• Applicant Rejected or Withdrew - Applicant rejected or withdrew application

Residence Type.

• Texas Resident
• Other U.S. State - out-of-state resident
• Other Country - applicant from foreign country
• Unknown Residence - applicant residence information not known

Gender. Female, Male

Ethnic Origin. There are seven THECB reporting categories: White, Black, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander, American Indian or Alaskan Native, International, Unknown or Not Reported.

Report Year. The calendar year in which the semester occurs.
